What does it mean to be wild? This film is the story of a wolf called Koani. Koani, with the help of her human companions, became an ambassador for her species, traveling the country to help raise awareness about wolves. Popcorn will be served during the film and a brief discussion will follow.  Free. Pre-registration appreciated.

 

Nibbles ‘n Knowledge:  Wolf or Ma’iingan; Resource or Relative?

Enjoy an evening of delicious complementary appetizers paired with the opportunity to expand your knowledge.  Wildlife Biologist Peter David will contrast some of the cultural perspectives of wolves historically held by many Ojibwe and non-Ojibwe people here in the Northwoods, and looks at how those perspectives lead to different contemporary objectives for the wolves inhabiting our landscape today.  $15 ($12 Members).  Pre-registration appreciated.
