Description

Meet the American woodcock—the Northwoods’ favorite leaf-colored potato with a bill like over-engineered tweezers. Whether they’re performing dizzying sky dances, rocking the ground with their Kevin Byrne-style boogie, or slurping their own weight in earthworms, these quirky "timberdoodles" are biological wonders. Learn more about these cryptic birds, the issues they face, and what biologists, researchers and habitat managers are doing to protect them.

Jenna Malinowski is a Wisconsin DNR Wildlife Biologist who has been with the Department for over 12 years.  She has spent the last 9 years at the Mercer Ranger Station managing land and wildlife in Iron and Ashland counties.

There will be a Bird Club business meeting at 6:30 pm, followed by the presentation at 7:00pm. Registration is encouraged but not required.  This is a free event and donations are welcome.
