Description
Join Naturalists John Bates and Mary Burns for this fun snowshoe adventure! The Hidden Rivers Trail begins at Fisherman’s Landing on the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage and meanders for almost two miles. The Flowage has always offered a sense of wilderness, but humans have played a major role in shaping the natural systems of the flowage. Enjoy a leisure snowshoe on this beautiful trail and learn how humans have transformed the Turtle and Flambeau Rivers into the environment you experience today.
We will snowshoe for just over two hours both on and off trail. We go slow, take exploratory meanders, and stop frequently to talk. This is an easygoing outing, but you should have good hiking stamina.
Registered participants will receive an email with more information on the trip. An option to meet at the NLDC and ride with NLDC staff to the trailhead will be available. Registration required by 2/6/25. Saturday 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm. $40/Member (Snowshoes No Charge), $50/Non-Member and $55/Non-Member (Plus Snowshoes).
