Description

For the third and final segment of our Boulder Junction Woods & Water series, join the Discovery Center team on a paddle down the Manitowish River upstream from the dam. Participants will embark on a 5-hour paddling journey filled with exploration and discover the ecological resources of Boulder Junction’s stretch of the Manitowish River. Beginning at the dam, attendees will traverse the river learning about the aquatic plants and animals that dwell in the Manitowish River and in its tributaries. Bring your snorkel if you have one, as we will take a short break to explore mussels and critters below the surface. Be sure to bring your lunch along, as the group will stop at a primitive campsites along the river to have lunch.

For this trip we require your own kayak/canoe, PFDs, and paddles.

Support for this project was provided by the Boulder Junction Community Foundation.
