Summary

The Northwoods of Wisconsin are abundant in plant life ranging from spring ephemerals like delicate Starflowers, to towering trees like our beloved Eastern Hemlocks. In this Flora of the Northwoods hiking series, our team of naturalists will take participants out into various ecosystems to share their flora knowledge and demonstrate how vastly diverse plant life is in our region.

Join Jamie Van, Woods and Water Director, to explore flora in the constructed wetlands of Powell Marsh. We will cover many species including wetland and shoreland that exist throughout this habitat. 

 

The hike is easy and on level ground. Please meet at the Vista Overlook Parking Area / Powell Marsh Wildlife Area located on Powell Rd approximately 3 miles south from Hwy 51. (Parking area: 46.093981, -89.900837)  No bathrooms available at this site.

 

Please bring water-resistant shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting a little wet! Registered participants will receive an email with more information prior to the event.  Registration required by 7/15/24.  $10/Members and $18/Non-Members.  Wednesday 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.
