Summary

It is no secret the Northwoods is rich in water resources. These programs and experiences will get you on (and sometimes in!) local lakes and rivers, educating you on their fascinating link to local history and lore, ecology and importance.

Description

Join our rockstar Woods and Water team for a day in the field hunting down aquatic invasive species (AIS) in several of our Northwoods lakes. This is a state-wide effort that aims to collect a ‘snapshot’ of as many water bodies as possible across Wisconsin on Aug 10.  We will start with a review of AIS, then head out to the lakes to look for new, early sightings of these invaders. Searching can be done from shore, but we will provide waders for those willing to get deeper into the hunt.

An email will be sent to registered participants with more information prior to the event.  This is a free event, however space is limited and registration is required by 8/8/24.  Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
