It is no secret the Northwoods is rich in water resources. These programs and experiences will get you on (and sometimes in!) local lakes and rivers, educating you on their fascinating link to local history and lore, ecology and importance.

Description

Please call the Discovery Center at 715-543-2085 for information about registering. Join Manitowish Waters Historical Society member Jim Bokern and NLDC Naturalist Hannah Gargrave on a pontoon tour of the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. This trip explores the histories, rich natural beauty and resources of the 13,000 acre Scenic Waters Area. Some historic images bound for personal viewing will be shared to better illustrate the history and cultural traditions of the area.

Participants will receive an email with more information prior to the trip. Bring a lunch and water. Bathrooms available. Registration required by 7/21/24. $90/Non-Member and $85/Member of the NLDC or MWHS. Wednesday 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
