It is no secret the Northwoods is rich in water resources. These programs and experiences will get you on (and sometimes in!) local lakes and rivers, educating you on their fascinating link to local history and lore, ecology and importance.
Description
Join Mike Porter on a canoe adventure where participants will gain sight into the ecology and geologic history of the Gile Flowage. Discussion points include the geologic underpinnings of the Flowage and the glacial features, modification of the flowage and land use history; as well as ecological transitions from the river edge to the forest. Some paddling experience is required. Canoes and PFDs provided.
Registration required by 8/28/24. Transporation will be provided from the Discovery Center. Participants will be sent specific details prior to event date. $40/Member and $50/Non-Member. Friday 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
