Summary
Description
What types of little critters have you seen in the wild? Along with mice and squirrels, there are many other species of small mammals that call this area home. We'll learn about what makes them special, how to identify them, and how scientists and researchers use live-trapping methods to collect data. NLDC Naturalists will go step-by-step through the proper protocols for capturing and releasing live animals. Children will not be allowed to handle small mammals, but will have the opportunity to assist our staff.
Participants must be prepared to spend time outside, dressed for the weather, and bring a water bottle with them. Please note that this year Eco Explorers (ages 8-11) and Eco Discoverers (ages 4-7) will happen simultaneously, but age groups will experience the programs separately.
Registration required by 6/18/24. Thursday, 9:30 - 11:30 AM. $20/Non-Member and $15/Member. Participants will meet in the Forest/Water Room in Discovery Hall.
Please read our program and event registration and cancellation policy here. |
