Bird Club Meeting: Tom Nicholls - Northern Wisconsin Habitats Important to Birds During Migration

Join Tom as he discusses and presents results of his songbird habitat relationships study over four spring and fall migration seasons in Price County, Wisconsin using mist nets, banding, and point counts in up to 15 different habitat types and taking biological and habitat data on 5,346 birds of 89 species. Study results added critical management information for conserving, restoring, or developing diverse plant communities to serve as songbird refuges and refueling stops during migration. Tom will also present a few, fun, short video clips he made to teach grade schoolers and others about the scientific method showing how scientists go about studying bird behavior through observation.
Meeting at 6:30pm, Presentation at 7:00pm. This is a free program and will be held in The Lodge at the Discovery Center.
