Exploring Beautiful State Natural Areas in Bayfield County: Rock Lake and Fairyland Hikes

Join local naturalists and authors John Bates and Mary Burns for this wonderful hiking experience.   Bayfield County has 28 designated state natural areas, and the Cable/Drummond area is particularly rich in remarkable sites. We will hike in the morning at Rock Lake SNA and in the afternoon at Fairyland SNA. These sites support some mature to old growth forest communities.  Good hiking stamina is required. For this trip we will cover 5 miles. We will *hopefully* get a chance to include a tour at the historic Forest Lodge as well.  We will be meeting at the Discovery Center to carpool in our van at 8:30 am and will be returning to the Discovery Center at 5:45 pm.  

Registered participants will be sent an email with trip information along with what to bring for the day.  *Location is approximately 1.75 hours from the NLDC.   Monday, 8:30 AM - 5:45 PM.  Registration required by 9/21.  This trip is sponsored by the Olson Family Foundation.  $80/Non-Member and $70/Member.
