Nibbles N' Knowledge: Women and Water - A Global Exhibit Presentation

Join local award-winning fiber artist Mary Burns as she highlights her latest project, "Women and Water - A Global Exhibit."  The exhibit celebrates and honors water by portraying women who work with it, protect it and advocate for it.  Featured are women who are scientists, water-walkers, teachers, farmers, activists and healers, people who hold deep connections with water.  

Twenty-eight (28) hand-woven portraits compose the exhibit.  Mary will discuss some of the work these women do and tell their stories in her presentation, as well as giving a brief overview about her weaving process.  

The exhibit is currently on display at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center in Ashland, WI (June 12 - October 16, 2023).  As an additional program for NLDC, Mary will lead a tour of the exhibit at the visitor center on June 16th.  

Thursday, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  We will serve light appetizers and have a cash bar from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm., and the program will run from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  Registration is required by 6/13.  The program will be held at the North Lakeland Discovery Center Main Lodge.  $17/Non-Member and $14/Member; $20 at the door for anyone who has not pre-registered.
