Description

This is a full day! We’ll join Naturalists John Bates and Mary Burns and hike the 2.25-mile loop trail around Lake Laura in Forest County, a trail that has some minor ups and downs and includes a bog boardwalk and a stretch of old-growth eastern hemlocks and white pines. We’ll eat lunch along the lake and then paddle the 106-acre undeveloped Laura Lake, a gorgeous wild lake with a small National Forest campground along its south shore. We will then wrap up the day with a tour of the family-run Lumberjack Maple Syrup facility just a few miles south of the lake, which produces some of the best syrup you’ll ever taste.  Participants can either ride with Naturalist Licia in the van or meet on location, directions and a list of what to bring will be sent before the trip.  Canoes/PFDs will be provided.

Registration is required by 9/10.  Registered participants will be emailed directions to put-in and other trip information ahead of time.  $80 ($70 members)
