Description

Guests will travel together to the Chequamegon Bay Area in an educational adventure to experience this beautiful area. Stopping first in Prentice Park in Ashland for a picnic lunch/brunch and a short nature walk by artisanal springs and a view of some very unique bird habitat. The group will then continue around the bay to Red Cliff and meet with outdoor guide Blaze Burton and a local tribal member and kayak guide from Rustic Mawkwa Den guide services. Guests will get to experience kayaking on Lake Superior, an up close view of the Fedora shipwreck, explore seacaves, view birds and multiple islands from afar. After the kayak tour the guides then lead a short nature hike in unique and historic Frog Bay National-Tribal Park.  Registered participants will receive additional information prior to the trip.  

 

Registration required by 8/3.  $170 includes all equipment and carpool in the NLDC van ($110 if you drive yourself and bring your own kayak (at least 14-16 feet long))
