Description

Join local artist and crafter Darcy Lanz-Sage for this fun season long series! In this class we will be snow and scrunch dyeing.

We will take advantage of the snow to snow dye and learn some other unique dyeing techniques to create colorful fabric fat quarters or garments!  Participants will bring their own 100% natural fiber fabric (fat quarters) (cotton, silk, rayon, or linen- in white or light solids) and/or garments to dye.  Participants should be able to dye and decorate approximately 4 pieces. Scarves, baby garments, unique shirts, etc. would all be suitable for this class.  Plastic containers (zip-loc style or recycled food containers like cool whip, etc.) will be needed for each fabric piece or garment to fit snugly into (but flat) when scrunched up tightly; plus a large plastic dishpan, (or larger) plastic container.

Please bring all fabrics, garments and containers to the first class session, along with a roll of aluminum foil and a bucket to collect snow in!  The plastic dishpan style container will need to hold your flat, but scrunched up garment(s) with snow and dye on top to travel home in your car safely!

All chemicals, dyes, resists and other supplies will be provided. White 100% cotton fat quarters will be available to purchase from instructor. Bring a dust mask if you wish.

Bring a lunch or snacks if you would like.  Masks are required for this indoor program.
