Description

Join local historian Jim Bokern and a Discovery Center Naturalist on a unique hike through history along the Manitowish River. We will explore an old logging ice road and 6 Pause Portage, an Ojibwa and voyager travel route. Exploring natural and geological features along the trails will add key insights regarding the Northwoods. This 2-mile hike is mostly off-trail, has uneven ground and is moderately strenuous. We will hike or snowshoe depending on conditions. Space is limited, pre-registration is required by 1/20. Saturday, 1 – 3:30 pm. $18 ($13 members of NLDC and MWHS).
