Presque Isle River Birding by Canoe

Enjoy a 4 mile leisurely guided paddle along the South Branch of the Presque Isle River, located just South of Marenisco, MI.  This river meanders through the Ottawa National Forest, opening into a large flood plain providing opportunity to see warblers, waterfowl, and shorebirds from your canoe. Last spring 46 species were detected during this trip including American White Pelican, Northern Parula, Magnolia Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary Sandpiper, and Blue-winged Teal.  Bring your binoculars, water, and snacks.  Transportation and canoes provided. Please register by 6/3. $25 ($20 members).
