Summary
We'll paddle the Manitowish River from its headwaters to the Highway 47 bridge throughout the summer. This third leg is an 8+ mile paddle that starts in a rocky riverbed, with Class 1 rapids to send you on your way. As the river widens and deepens, a natural obstacle course presents itself - downed trees cover much of the river and boulders from the water, providing an opportunity to test your steering and maneuvering skills. This section is quite forested, with high riverbanks and ideal for deer and kingfisher sightings. Further on, the river widens and the surroundings become marshy. Alder and wild rose cover the shoreline and muskrat are often seen. Canoes provided.
