Description
The Annual Midwest Crane Count is a citizen-based wildlife survey designed to monitor the abundance and distribution of cranes. We invite beginner and experienced birders to join us in this important work. Early in the morning on April 12 we will spread out across Vilas County to complete crane counts at a variety of locations and then come back together to share our data. Please plan to attend a brief training on the day prior to review count protocol and to determine logistics.
Training: Friday, April 11, 10-11am. Count: Saturday, April 12, 5:30-7:30am (optional breakfast gathering follows). Pre-registration by April 10 required.
