Join Discovery Center naturalists for a training and information session on the nation-wide Great Backyard Bird Count. Individuals can perform the count anytime during the 3-day count period, 2/17/12 to 2/20/12.
Description
The Discovery Center, and the Discovery Center Bird Club, are promoting this national count, by hosting a bird identification and data collecting training session. We’ll cover winter bird identification, alongside information on the Great Backyard Bird Count including how to perform the counts, where and how to submit data, the GBBC’s history and what the results are used for. The training session will be hosted at the Manitowish Waters Community Center on Highway 51, and will be followed by a Backyard Bird Count at the Discovery Center.
