The Friends of the VV Hemlocks are sponsoring a naturalist-led hike into a 400-acre old growth hemlock site.
Description
This naturalist-guided hike will explore a beautiful old-growth hemlock forest -- rich with wildlife
, history, and unique geological and watershed significance. The 400-acre parcel has more than 1 1/2 miles of shoreline. Its forested stand represents a rare remnant of the northern hardwood–hemlock forest, once the largest and most characteristic of northern WI.
