Join us for an immersive workshop exploring the fascinating world of local medicinal fungi. This class features a comprehensive, visually rich and hands on introduction, designed to help you confidently identify key medicinal mushrooms in our region. We’ll cover ethical and sustainable harvesting, handling and extracting practices rooted in the “honorable harvest” tradition, ensuring that foragers support ecological balance while gathering wild medicine. Workshop includes a useable PowerPoint and foray for hands on learning.
Emilymae King-Ryden is a certified Forest & Nature Therapy guide (ANFT) and the Program Director at Terri’s Treehouse with 21 years of experience in outdoor immersion education. She is a Registry tier 2 Training, Wild Mushroom Certified, Wilderness First Responder along with other credentials in the field of foraging, herbalism and education. She serves as the Chair of Conservation and Stewardship & Marketing for the Wisconsin Mycological Society and is a Community Education Instructor at Nicolet Area Technical College. Her work is rooted in the belief that protecting our natural resources starts with building a personal relationship with the land.
