Plantain - The Humble Healer with Julie Cook

Participants will learn to identify Plantain while foraging on the grounds of North Lakeland Discovery Center. We’ll be discussing the numerous healing and nutritional properties of this very common “weed”. You will also learn how to preserve and use this humble plant and wonder how you lived without it! This will be a very low-tech, hands on exploration of the grounds, foraging for plantain and discussion along with a recipe and a product they can easily make at home.

Julie Cook awakened to the healing properties of plants beginning at age six, when an elderly neighbor successfully treated her mother's hives with Plantain. Julie realized then that nature is brimming with everything we need for healing and good health. It has been Julie's personal quest, delight and surprise to discover how reliable these plants are.

Space is limited and registration is required by 8/6/2026.  This event takes place on Saturday, 8/8/2026 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  $25/Non-Member and $20/Member.
