Description

How can everyday people help scientists learn about the natural world? What kinds of important discoveries can we make just by observing what’s around us? Join us as we become scientists and explore how we can collect real data to help study nature! Participants will take part in hands-on activities like bird counts, measuring trees, and monarch tagging, just like real scientists! Through these fun investigations, kids will learn how their observations can make a difference. Participants will also enjoy a snack and story during this educational children's program. This is a drop-off program, so parents should plan to return for pick-up at the end.

Participants must be prepared to spend time outside, dressed for the weather, and bring a water bottle with them. Please note that this year Eco Explorers (ages 8-11) and Eco Discoverers (ages 4-7) will happen simultaneously, but age groups will experience the programs separately.

Space is limited and registration is required by 8/04/2026.  This event takes place on Thursday, 8/6/2026,  9:30 AM - 11:30 AM.  $20/Non-Member and $16/Member.  Participants can be dropped off in the Discovery Hall.
