Description
Trout Lake stands out as one of the most unique Northwoods lakes with an amazing history. Join historian Jim Bokern and naturalist Jenna Richardson on a pontoon tour that will explore cultural and natural destinations. Trout Lake’s size, depth and ecologies support unique fisheries, while large tracts of state land maintain a wild landscape. Historically, Trout Lake Indigenous communities, State Forestry Headquarter, Trout Lake Station for Limnology, and early resorts are a few of our destinations.
An email will be sent to registered participants with directions to the launch site and items to bring prior to the trip. Pit-toilet style restrooms will be available at the launch site. Registration is required by 7/12/26. $70/Members of NLDC or MWHS and $75/Non-Members. Tuesday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
In the event of inclement weather: If there is light rain predicted during the tour, we will most likely conduct the tour. However, if thunderstorms/torrential rain is forecasted on the date/time of the tour, we will call you on the phone number you provided at registration no later than 8:00 am.
