Location
Description
With shoreline on three different under-developed lakes, this property is an excellent place for carry-in paddling. Join us to enjoy this morning paddle with Discovery Center Naturalists and Frank Schroyer from The Northwoods Land Trust. We will be portaging between two lakes on the property, Stone Lake and Ess lake, to view a variety of forest and bog habitats. Young aspen and birch stands quickly transition to mature white pine along the shoreline of Stone Lake, and towering basswood trees on Ess Lake. Participants must bring their own vessel (canoe or kayak), paddle, and PFD, and must be physically able to carry it down a short slope and across a 1/4 mile distance. Canoes are not recommended for this program, as they are more difficult to carry than a kayak. More information will be emailed to registered participants leading up to the trip date.
Space is limited; advanced registration is required by 6/10/26. Registered participants will be emailed with more details prior to the program. $12/Member and $15/Non-Member. Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Please read our program and event registration and cancellation policy here.
