Description

From land to water, plants play an integral role for lakes. Join Dr. Katie Hein, Aquatic Research Scientist from UW-Madison, Trout Lake Station to learn about how plants stabilize sediment, produce oxygen, and provide food and shelter for fish and wildlife. Learn about the variety of plants in northern Wisconsin lakes and how fish use different types of aquatic plant habitats.  Katie will also share preliminary findings from a new study examining how aquatic plants, bugs and fish in nearshore areas of lakes respond to shoreline restoration.

We will serve light appetizers and have a cash bar from 5:00 - 6:00 pm, presentation will run from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.  Registration required by 10/17/25.  Program is held at the North Lakeland Discovery Center Main Lodge.  $17/Non-Member, $14/Member and $20 at the door for anyone who has not pre-registered.  Thursday 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
