Description

Begin your morning immersed in the beauty and biodiversity of Van Vliet Hemlocks, a designated State Natural Area known for its towering old-growth trees and pristine shoreline. As we paddle through calm waters, our Discovery Center Naturalists Licia & Jenna will share insights about the area's unique ecology, glacial history, and the vital role of hemlock forests in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. We'll listen for wildlife, observe native plant communities, and reflect on the importance of protecting these rare ecosystems—all while soaking in the peaceful stillness of sunrise on the water. This will be slow paced paddle and we will go around 2 miles.
