Description

Join a Discovery Center Naturalist as we reveal this month's book Little Pine Cone: Wildfires and the Natural World. Follow the story of Jacky, an adorable jack pine cone, and discover both the positive and negative effects of wildfires on the natural world.  This is a program that connects literacy and outdoor recreation by placing a children’s nature-themed story out along the trail.  We will walk and read the new book together, followed by a fun craft! This program is great for kids aged 4-7 – parents are asked to stay with their children and participate.

Please register the child/children names only.  Space is limited and registration is required by 9/5/25. These programs are free of charge and are sponsored by the Shepherd/Howells Fund. Participants will meet at the Teal Cabin at the Discovery Center. The first 10 families to register will receive a copy of the book thanks to the generosity of the Shepherd-Howells Fund! Saturday 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
