It is no secret the Northwoods is rich in water resources. These programs and experiences will get you on local lakes, educating you on their fascinating link to local history and lore, ecology and importance.

Description

Legends are powerful and can captivate the imagination, whether they are true or not. Join local historian Kay Krans and NLDC Naturalist Licia for an evening pontoon tour of Manitowish Lake. Our tour will delve into the history, legends and myths, and the ecology of this important lake. This tour includes a delicious dessert and coffee on the deck at Blue Bayou Inn.

Registered participants will receive an email prior to the program with details and the location to meet the pontoon. Registration required by 7/6/25. $60/Non-Member and $55/Member of NLDC or MWHS. Tuesday 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

In the event of inclement weather: If there is light rain predicted during the tour, we will most likely conduct the tour. However, if thunderstorms/torrential rain is forecasted on the date/time of your tour, we will call you at the phone number you provide when you register for the tour no later than 8:00 am.
